27 Types of Conversation
Our lives revolve around our ability to communicate. Whether
it’s through words, body language, technology, writing or social media, we are
constantly giving messages that are received and translated by others.
Conversation is often considered a simple task but can carry much greater
weight than we ever imagined. A simple
word selection can change the entire meaning of a phrase. The medium or
platform used can also change the significance conveyed through a conversation.
So in a world where billions of messages are being shared each day, how can we
make sense of the important communication that affects our company and
ourselves specifically? In the book “Measure What Matters” author Katie Paine
lists 27 types of conversation used on social media platforms. Being able to
identify the form of conversation is the first step to properly decoding its
meaning.
